divewithmia.com

This week I am reviewing divewithmia.com. It is a dive blog written by mia Toose, a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer from Canada. She has been diving since 2001, and the oldest blog posts in this blog are from 2011. So she's a pro diver, and she also designs and sells women's wet suits!

Dive With Mia has made the Top 25 Best Scuba Diving Blogs list made by the Adventure Junkies. While that is undoubtedly a merit, the list focuses on metrics, search engine rankings and SEO, not actual content of the blogs. So here's my little attempt to correct that.

The web site has a clear and simple look about it, with everything well accessible and easy to navigate. Among other interesting things, there is a gallery of beautiful underwater photos to marvel at.

The blog is mostly about the writer's own diving experiences and experiences working in the diving industry. She also gives some tips on how to improve your diving experience. I found those interesting.

Mia tells the story in an amusing, personal way and adds a tiny touch of humour to the texts. She has a nice way of writing that is easy to follow. There is no feeling of wanting to skip parts of the text to get to the end.

I like the way Mia has separated the dive location descriptions from other blog posts, this makes the web site just that little bit more convenient to use. She describes the locations from a personal perspective. This gives a professional feel to it, like she really knows what she is talking about. At least I got the feeling that she has actually dived all the locations described.

On a down side, Mia does not update her blog as often as you might like, with 5 blog posts in 2015, 3 in 2014 (all in the first two months of the year), and 4 in 2013. I'd like to read her texts more often.

All in all, Dive With Mia is a reasonably good web site with a nice scuba dive blog. If only the blog was updated more often.

Thank you for reading this review! I hope you found it useful. Any comments are more than welcome, about this review, or maybe suggestions about other dive blogs that still wait reviewing. And, as always, remember to share my blog to other divers as well! I'll write again next week.

Just a reminder, here is a link to my own dive blog, take a look if you still have a minute or two.
